oh blog, I shall not abandon thee!
I am going to come clean here, I don't do well in the wintertime. When the temperature drops below a certain point I get into survival mode and all extraneous activity is shut down. That's why I need to move somewhere warm.
That being said, I am moving somewhere warm. Expect a whole lot of new actions and happenings. Here are a few of the possibilities for the next few months:
1) going on tour with airwaves down to SXSW to party and hopefully start spreading the word about my new musical identity.
2) going to LA for an undecided amount of time (maybe forever?) to make things happen like:
3) my house party tour. I want to do a series of crazy huge house parties to promote my stuff. I'm talking out of your mind, animal house type action and everyone going crazy on the dancefloor (aka the living room floor). Anyone in the southwest who has a big house, and wants to rent a sound system and throw the best party ever should hit me up.
4) video blogging! The wife and I just got a little cheap camcorder. I should be documenting my trips and posting stuff up to youtube very soon. All video blogs will end up here too don't worry.
5) mixtape part deux! I am well on the way to having a second mixtape ready. I have decided to throw all reason out the door and just get my stuff out to the people. The plan is to start a mass media flood and just concentrate on getting people to hear about what I'm doing. Maybe some will like it, maybe somewhere along the line it will turn into a job. The way the "industry" is changing, maybe I'll invent a new thing to replace the outdated "band" who makes "albums" and plays "concerts" in front of "fans". I will be turning that paradigm on it's head and all of a sudden you wake up in a new world. Maybe I'll be the only music that survives the apocalypse.
6) last.fm. I really don't understand this site yet, but I will and I will use it to my advantage. I encourage everyone to "scrobble" the hell out of me, whatever that means. Full record available for free download there, please add me to your playlists and lets make it happen in '08!
7) B.E.A.R./briefcase rockers. Look out for new colabs through Gino's new company. He will succeed through sheer talent and vision where others rely on finance and synergy. The guy already boasts the #1 lineup of two years from now, so hopefully people will catch up sooner than that and we can all be ahead of the curve.
8) blogging. Is it the future? It is for me, because I am coming back with mountains of text about all the obscure topics that I am known for (in my 3 or 4 posts so far). Look out for posts about aleatoric music, Jodorowsky, Jane Jacobs, and a whole lot more stuff you never thought you'd care about. All written in my trademark no preparation, no proofreading style that got me so famous in the first place.
9) secretunicornsforum.com. I have a message board there which is a bit dismal right now, but with your help we can make it a thriving internet community. Who knows, we might even save someone's life.
